Liverpool pulls off incredible second leg comeback against Barcelona, winning 4-0 and 4-3 on aggregate to book a place in the champions league final for the 2nd consecutive UCL final.
Liverpool produced one of the greatest champion’s league comebacks in history by overturning a three goal first leg deficit to beat Barcelona. The Reds had the support from the fans at Anfield but were without the service from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, all forwards, due to injuries but there replacement which was Divork Origi and Shaqiri did something incredible to smile about today at Anfield.
The win means that Liverpool will face either Ajax or Tottenham in Madrid on 1st June.
Early strike from Divock Origi, who tapped in after Marc Andre ter Stegen failed to hold Jordan Henderson shot on the 7th minute, gave the vociferous Anfield crowd the belief that another European fight back on the reds could be on the cards.
Georgino Wilnaldum, on as a substitute for the injured Andy Robertson in the 2nd half made it 2-0 with a low drive in the 54th minute before he made it to an immediate 3-0 on the 56th minute to make 3-3 on aggregate with a superb header. On the 79th minute, Origi completed a remarkable victory for the Reds when he swept Trent Alexander Arnold’s low corner into the back of the net to make it into 4-3 on aggregate.
