Former Manchester United Coach Jose Mourinho Linked to Real Madrid Interim Role

Jose Mourinho is very close to being named as the Real Madrid interim boss as the sacking of Santiago Solari
looms, due the poor performance of the club in the recent matches.

Real Madrid executives headed by Jose Angel Sanchez and Florentino Perez had held a four hour meeting on Thursday where they decided that Jose Mourihno would be the preferred option to be the club‘s coach till the end of the 2018\2019 season.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager is the preferred one who can take over Madrid. Solari is expected to coach the next match which will be played on Sunday against Real Valladolid as his last match as the head coach of Real Madrid. After the match Jose is likely to be named as the manager till the end of the season.

The call to sack Santiago Solari who only took over after Julen Lopeteguiin October came after a shocking champion’s league defeat against Ajax on Tuesday night. Real Madrid have been the champions of the tournament since Zinedine Zidane‘s era in 2015, having won in three consecutive seasons.

The hiring of Jose will not be of full time basis. Madrid are still negotiating with Zinedine Zidane who had resigned before the start of the season, hoping that they will convince him to return to Santiago Benerbau as the head coach next season.
